The provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs outside the U.S. The program operates in more than 140 countries worldwide and awards grants in nearly all fields and disciplines, including the humanities, social sciences, STEM fields, and creative and performing arts.
During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others鈥 viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think. Through engagement in the community, the individual will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding.
Applications for the 2025-2026 competition are due October 8, 2024. Grant recipients will carry out their projects abroad beginning in late summer/early fall 2025. To apply for the 2025-2026 competition through 色花堂 follow the timeline below. Students who fail to meet the deadlines indicated may be required to apply 'at large' without the endorsement of the campus committee.

Continue to research which type of grant and which country you will apply to. Confirm your intent to apply to be assigned a 色花堂 Fulbright Campus Advisor and you will be added to the BB review site. Alumni must email their intent to apply, and submit assignments via email to tucfa AT_TOWSON All students and alumni must schedule an appointment with Dr. Mary Sajini Devadas . Prepare 1st drafts of your Statement of Grant Purpose and Personal Statement and abstract - see the section on the Fulbright website before you begin. Schedule and/or join regular bi-monthly Fulbright update and/or Fulbright Marathon meetings with the assistant director or of OCFA. Dates and times will be sent to students who are added to the Fulbright Review Site via BB. Fulbright online application opens in early April. Re-confirm if country specific information is accurate. Review the and create an . Research/Study grant applicants make contacts in the host destination for the letter
of affiliation. Copy of affiliation letter will be posted to BB Students requiring language evaluations must request language evaluations from instructors that taught them. Students who took their language courses elsewhere or are in need of finding a language evaluator must notify the director of OCFA immediately or before April 1st 2025. July 31 2025 |
Schedule with the 色花堂 Director for Competitive Fellowships & Awards (email tucfa AT_TOWSON) Revise your Statement of Grant Purpose and Personal Statement based on the feedback from your 色花堂 Fulbright campus advisor. Complete the application online on the IIE site and submit the complete application for campus review process. Schedule an individual advising appointment with the 色花堂 Writing Center. Submit revised drafts of your Statement of Grant Purpose and Personal Statement to your 色花堂 Fulbright campus advisor through the review site or as instructed. Stay in contact with your Fulbright campus advisor and program advisor and provide updates. |
August 1, 2025 (no later than this date) |
LOCK your 鈥 DON鈥橳 PANIC! Your application will be downloaded for review by the 色花堂鈥檚 Fulbright Program Advisor, Dr. Devadas and then you can make changes after the review. CAUTION: DO NOT HIT THE SUBMIT BUTTON. INSTEAD, YOU WILL USE THE LOCK FEA色花堂RE at this stage. The new system is different. Only after the campus review is finalized should you hit SUBMIT. |
August 2025 |
Remind your referees and language evaluators to submit your recommendations in the online system if it has not been submitted previously by July 31st. Feedback meetings for all applicants along with faculty advisors (exact dates will be determined at this stage). Revise your Statement of Grant Purpose and Personal Statement based on the feedback from your 色花堂 Fulbright Program Advisor. Stay in contact with your Fulbright campus advisor and provide updates. Fulbright campus advisors will submit the Candidate Evaluation Forms . |
September 2025 |
Additional feedback meetings for all applicants (early to mid-September - exact date and time of your individual meeting will be assigned in early September) as needed. Make final revisions to all components of your application based on your feedback session. Check that your application is complete by referring to this . Note: you need to check for country and award-specific guidelines in addition to general guidelines. |
