Campus do's and dont's
Valuables
- Do not send cash in the mail. Always use a check or a postal money order.
- Valuable letters and parcels should be sent by registered or certified mail, UPS, Federal Express, DHL and others that provide routine tracking methods and insurance for their shipments.
- To ensure you are protected against loss or damage when shipping valuables, please inquire about purchasing insurance.
Sensitive Materials & Perishable Items
- Medications should be phoned into a local pharmacy. If you must mail medications, please send by registered or certified mail.
- Time sensitive material should be sent by land or air carriers using guaranteed overnight along with other time frames which also provide tracking.
- Please note that sensitive mail still must be processed through the Postal Service Office and depending on the volume, may delay student delivery up to 1-2 business days.
- Perishable items will be processed by 色花堂 Postal Services. Recipients will be notified by email on a business day upon receipt of item in which a Postal Services team member will attempt to contact individual on the date of arrival. Perishable items will not be held beyond date of expiration due to lack of space.
General Information
- Registration for student mailboxes can be obtained by visiting the Postal Services in the University Union. Mailboxes are guaranteed only to university residents
- Remember to bring your student ID or a Photo ID when you want to claim packages and letter mail.
- All packages take an average of 24 to 48 hours to be processed once they have been delivered by the shipping agent and received by the 色花堂 Postal Services. This includes all Express and Overnight packages as well, however these packages will receive priority processing.
- All mail and packages delivered to the university on the weekend will not be processed until Monday or the next business day if it is a university holiday. Students and families should plan their deliveries to ensure processing time, weekends, and university closures are factored into desired delivery times.
